What can
I expect at a weekend service?
Our services are a casual environment open for anyone to
attend. A greeter at the door will offer you a smile
and handshake, and you will be handed one of our church
bulletins.
The service formats vary from week to week but typically
include a mix of music, dramatic presentations, multimedia,
and a speaker with a message that’s relevant and applicable.
We encourage audience participation in singing and following
along with the speaker’s notes. We will also collect an
offering at some point in the service, but if it is your
first visit then please don’t give us any money; we’re just
happy to welcome you as our guest!
What do I do with my children during a service?
Children usually stay in the sanctuary with their parents.
If you need we have an area set up with a video feed where
you can watch your children and still hear the morning
message and
fill out you note sheet.
We do request that you please take them outside of the
auditorium if they begin to fuss or make noise. That will
greatly help us to keep distractions to a minimum.
What does your
church believe?
We are
deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Bible. Our
vision is to become a biblically functioning community of
believers who worship God, reach out to people beyond the
church, and grow together in our spiritual relationship with
God.
Do you belong
to a denomination?
No. We are affiliated with the Church of God in Anderson,
Indiana, who considers itself a movement rather than a
denomination. Although associated with this movement, we are
autonomous, which means the governing power of Sonrise
Church rests with its members and leaders.
How do
I become a member of your church?
Here at Sonrise, there is no formal membership. If you know
and follow Jesus, you are already a member of God’s church.
Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled
out?
Rest assured that you won’t be put on the spot, singled-out,
or embarrassed. Though we do receive an offering, we don’t
want anyone to feel obligated to give. We do like to collect
some basic information from people in our guest registry,
but if you’d prefer not to, that’s all right with us.
How can I give to
Sonrise?
We collect an offering in each weekend service, in which you
may give cash or checks. Giving envelopes are provided at
the back of the sanctuary so you may receive a statement for
tax purposes. Or, you may mail your offering to the
church. |
